Antares

Bright red in color found in the summer sky is Antares. It got its name because its red color resembled that of mars. The word Antares means anti-Ares or "anti-mars." This star is part of the constellation Scorpious. Because of its red color it is supposed to represent the heart of the scorpion. One thing it is known for is its size, it is huge. Antares is almost 3 times the size of the sun. This star is comparable to the star Betelgeuse which is also in the constellation Scorpios.  Antares is a supergiant so it will eventually collapse. Because of its size Antares will possibly leave a neutron star or a black hole.
