Algol
Algol is a binary star that is also known as the demon star. This star is supposed to represent the monster medusa. The hero Perseus is shown holding Medusas head (Algol)
This star is usually easiest to see around autumn especially around Halloween. This is another reason the star was seen as a scary star in mythology. It is also seen that the two binary stars orbit around each other. That's why it is sometimes thought that the star is brighter or dimmer on different days because one star is brighter than the other.
