Poison Ivy

Common name: Jewelweed
 
Genus: Impatiens

Habitat: Eastern Deciduous Forest
 
Uses: Helps cure posion ivy rashes (Anti-inflammatory and fungicide)
 
Preparation:
  1. Simply break the stem an drub it on the infected area a person can also do this before going out as a prevention method for poison ivy
  2. Create a poultice out of the leaves (crushed and boiled) and rub it on the skin
Active chemicals: Lawsone: which has anti-inflammatory and antihistamine properties
